Guide to Preparedness Now - What is Prepping and Why Should I Care?

What is prepping and why should you care?

Prepping mean different things to different people.  The best description that I have found is that prepping is the practice of actively planning for survival, i.e.  being as self-sufficient as possible in any situation.  Preppers, for the most part, are optimistic pessimists - they hope for the best while planning for the worst case.  With a little preparation, you will be able to survive, protect & recover when the unexpected happens.

What is the goal of prepping?

The goal is to prepping is to be able to survive on our own without the help of others if and when an emergency/disaster strikes.  The kind of event for which you are preparing will determine the specific emergency items, the type & quantity of your stockpile, and the measures taken.

What are the risks if you don't prep?

  1. Lack of water

  2. Lack of food

  3. Lack of medical supplies

  4. Lack of shelter

  5. Lack of security/protection

What do I need to do to get started?
